How far in advance should I start looking for an apartment?
Probably one or two months. Generally an apartment building will allow you to sign for an apartment 30-60 days before you plan to move in, but no earlier. Availability changes so often that it isn’t worthwhile to tour apartments much earlier.
However, we encourage you to call or email us at any time. We are always happy to discuss your apartment options and offer our advice – even if you are not planning an apartment search anytime soon.
Will you try to push certain apartments on me and steer me away from others?
No. We don’t work for any apartment building or landlord in particular – we consider every unit available downtown. We offer our honest advice on which apartment we think will be best for you, and then we let you decide.
How far in advance should I sign for an apartment?
That is an important question. Pricing and availability of apartments changes daily. There can be huge swings in prices over a very short period of time. Sometimes the best move is to wait for prices to go down, while sometimes the best move is to seize a special promotion immediately. This is another important reason to retain our services. We always give you honest advice on what your best move is.
How can you afford to work free of charge?
We get paid by apartment buildings and landlords for bringing them qualified tenants. The customer never pays anything.
Do you make me sign anything?
There are a few state-mandated documents you may be required to sign when working with any broker. However, we do not ask renters to sign anything that creates an obligation to work with us.
